i'm doing a ford emblem colour change on my grill emblem right now... mine has the gooey rubberlike filling and blue paint...
the conversion is done simply by removing the filling (which brings the blue paint with it) "masking" all the parts that are supposed to be chrome by coating them in chapstick (anything greasy would work) spraying it, and wiping the paint off of the chrome...
my question is, should i wait till the paint is completely dry before i start pulling the unwanted off, or should i do it when it's not quite dry? i plan to go over all the edges of paint/chrome with a razor before i do this, just to make sure it's a nice clean line... i would think it should be when it's not quite fully cured, but last time i did that, the little bits i pulled off got stuck in the part that was supposed to be grey...
