spray paint

i used krylon fusion to paint my plastic fender flares....unfortunatly i didnt tape off as well as i should of, and i it was a little windy too. so i got a few specks of the paint on the body of my truck. can i use mineral spirits on the existing paint of my truck to get it off, or will that mess up the paint on my truck?

If the paint is a day or two old i would use a wax and grease remover, not mineral spirits

A clay bar will do the trick.

If, for whatever reason, that doesn't work (even though it will) a dab of gasoline on a rag will work as well.

some rubbing compund could work, ive done it with old paint and worksfie, but the rag/gasoline can do almost evrything

Why did you tape off as opposed to removing it?

do the clay bar like Jay said. Easiest way and you can do the entire truck while you are at it and make it all nice and smooth. Go to autozone and pick up the clay magic blue.

Ahhh, that's why I was asking, if it's a fastener, this place has any and every fastener you could ever want. I ran across it when I did my flares and NAPA wanted like $1.00/each for them. Hope this helps... The Fastener Warehouse

the 93-97 flares had studs ,bit the newer flares use plastic clips & im sure you can use the newer ones on your 97 flares
