Sport-Trac lug pattern

Does anyone know if the Sport Trac and gen 1 Ranger have same lug pattern?

Yes, they are. 5x4.5.

Cool...thanks...but went and looked at em and they were not in that good of shape. Think I will just clean up the stock stealies and leave them on for a while. Any idea what is the largest size tire I can fit on the 14" rim on a '87 2-wheel drive?

Well, the limiting factor will be the wheels you have. The largest I see for 14" wheels in 27X8.5-14. 27's would probably fit fine, but don't hold me to that. If you went up to 15" wheel you would have a much better selection for tire sizes in my opinion.
