Does anyone make these? Either a full spool or a mini, does not matter, would rather not weld gears.

hope your running stock tires...otherwise i doubt you would make it far

i got lucky and found a used Detroit on this site for cheap, about $200. way better than spool, welding, etc. don't ever remember seeing a spool for a 7.5. i'd look for a good used LockRight for cheap, or a new one for about $250-300. your axle will be much happier.

Never seen one for a 7.5, nothing wrong with welding it if you do it properly. If you're going through the trouble to install a spool you might as well ditch the 7.5 anyways.

ford racing has one for about 215 cant remember the part number tho

I have a welded carrier if you want it. With cap support and 33 I beat on my 7.5 very hard and never broke anything. just my $ 0.02.

well the reason I am keeping it is because I had access to a spare one out of a 98 for free, and my truck is so light I doubt I need the strength of a 8.8. I just don't want to deal with welding all of the required brackets on. I have a lock-right in my 7.5 now but I cannot reuse it with the 4.56 gears that I have for the axle I got. I was going to buy a Detroit if I couldn't find a spool and I would rather not weld the gears so it looks like I will be going with a Detroit for this 7.5

You can use the lock-right with the 4.56 gears, the offending ring gear tooth in the way just needs to be clearanced a little, takes about 10 minutes with a dremel.

I have a Lock-Rite in my 7.5" with 4.56 gears. Like Hahns said, I "massaged" the ring gear a little so I could slide the pin in and out.
