Spline count

Does any one know if the ranger type 97 (8.8 open 4.10) is a 28 spline or a 31 spline? I have yet to get my hands on it so I can't check yet, just didn't know if some one knew....

Open and a 97 would make it a 28 spline. Tech library has this http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/axle_codes.shtml

I sum how missed that, welp looks like a locker it a bit more than the 31 spline....
