Yeah, the manual hub nuts need at least 150 ft/lb. Auto hubs are a totally different breed.

Try 35 ft-lbs to preload while tightening the wheel. Then back off 1/4 turn and tighten to 12-14 (don't quote me on that) and insert lock key.

It's 16 INCH/lbs after preload.i believe thats for the manual hubs. and its 16lb/ft after preload. then the outer locknut is 150lb/ft for manual hubs.
Either way, the nut that actually tightens the bearing is supposed to be 16in/lbs after you preload them, only difference is the manual hubs have a locknut that can be cranked down which doesn't change the bearing tightness, auto hubs have a little key that's inserted after you tighten the nut to prevent it from moving.isnt that for the manual hubs? i think the autos are totally different?
