how can I correct my speedometer and odometer readings after installing bigger tires? Any help is appreciated :)

Gonna need to figure out which speedo drive gear you need and get it.

Are You sure? in the tech library it says 95 and up rangers used the vss or something?

In 95, some do, some don't. It was a split year.

Look under the truck, around the driver's side rear area of the trans. If there is a big cable coming out of the side, you need a new drive gear.

If there isn't, you need a tuner to reset the computer.

Seeing now that you have a 2.3 listed in your profile, you probably need a tuner since the 4-cyls were all OBDII in 95.

Your other option is to re-gear so that the final drive ratio matches the original one.

well I found a cable and it matched the description in the tech page (1 bolt holding it in) I took it out and there was the speedo gear haha. I guess I should have got off my butt before making a thread lol. But hey thanks man I appreciate the help :icon_cheers:

Ha, getting off your butt isn't always worth it.

I stay on mine every chance I can get.

But I think the big decider on that in 95 was ABS. The RABS trucks used the rear diff sensor. The non-ABS ones used the cable.

This is it right?

That is it. You pull the little metal tab at the top of the gear teeth and the gear comes right off.

cool. who carries the gears?
