Speedometer Issue

Good day,
I have a 99 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0 2WD automatic.

The speedometer will quit working after I hit a pothole or drive over an uneven road, and the O/D light will start to blink. Typically the speedometer will start working after a few seconds or I hit another pothole. I just replaced the speed sensor located on the rear axle, but the problem still continues. Can someone give me some direction on the next area of focus?

The assistance is greatly appreciated!
George

check all of the connections, at the tranny, AND the PCM.
