So I think I can just use the plastic gears from lmr or steeda etc. With a M5ODR2 transmission but when I put everything in the calculator the gear is always a tooth and a half off. And I dont remember what color the gear was that was in the transmission. I believe I may need the white gear or the red gear. For 235/75R15 with 3.73 gears. The gear that came out of the f150 trans when I put the ranger vvs in was yellow if that helps.

You need to know the Drive gears tooth count as well

6, 7, or 8 tooth

Yeah I forgot about that one and now the transmission is in, so thats not coming back out for that. unless I can see the color of the drive gear from the vss hole. I seem to remember that normally the drive gear is color coordinated to ta ta tooth count

The year of transmission can help, usually its 7 tooth on manuals, but it depends on the rear axle gearing offered in that model F150 that year

Rangers were 7 tooth because that covered 3.08 to 4.10

I wanna say 7 but, it slipped my mind when I had the trans apart, either way every combination of gear I tried in the calculator would be a tooth or 2 off ill probably just order the 3 closest and pace someone or ask a trooper I know to hit it with the radar.

Your 235/75/15 tires have 699 revolutions per mile, with 7 tooth drive gear and 3.73 axle thats 18.23 driven gear, so 18 tooth is darn close, and thats usually a Yellow gear

You'll have to fine tune your indicated speed with tire size when you get it close with the correct gear..

You may not be able to get it perfect. The best I got was still 2mph off. Have someone set cruise next to you and see where you are at. It changes the amount its off I think its worst the faster you go?

That's so 1960's . In the modern era , use your handheld GPS unit to verify speed real time .

GPS isn't that precise. Especially if you live in hill country.
