I recently purchased 15" wheels and tires to replace the 14's on my truck. I changed the gear on the speedometer cable to correct it. I only had to go down (1) tooth. My truck has the 3.08 rear end and I would like to swap it for something just a little lower. The problem is I am not sure that I can get a gear with less teeth for my truck. I did this once upon a time in an early Chevrolet and changed the driven gear as well as the cable gear. Can I do something similar to this transmission?

Actually I think I might have answered my own question. I have discovered, thanks to the Tech section that with a lower gear I need to increase the number of teeth. Which, of course helps me. Thanks for the help (or at least the patience).

thats what the tech library is for, glad you got it figured out
