Hey guys/gals I have a 1998 2.5 5 speed reanger , a few weeks back I had to discontect my battery to reset my alarm. when I hooked everything back up and started it i noticed the speedo had stoped working , before I disconected the battery every thing was fine. I have searched the fourms over and over , checked all the fuses in the cab , checked the vss/abs sensor and replaced twice , checked with an ohm meter for shorts , swaped out the cluster with one i had planed on putting in and still nothing. The only thing that does not work is the speedo and trip metter as well as the odometer. I do have code p0500 popping up on the scanner but I am at a lost on whats left to check. i did notice that when the vss/abs sensor is unpluged from the sensor I do have week power from end to end , meaning that i can test from one end of the vss/abs line all the way to the inside of the cab and still have the same week power on a test light , however when i plug the sensor back in that week power on the test light goes away. Any help would be great now that the rain in Southern California has let up for a min or two
