Speedo ? not covered in stickie

My speedo in my 92 Xploder runs about 5mph off at 70mph when it is cold but gets back to normal once it warms up. Any ideas? Seems pretty strange to me since it's cable operated. Guess it could be in the cluster, but everything else works fine, except the gas guage. Tach is still spot on. Even in the cold.

Mine does the same thing in my 91 Ranger. I can even set my cruise control about where I think is the right speed and 10 miles down the road the tach is in the same spot, but the speedo slows down to the right speed.

both of mine do it too (90 & 94) when its cold out, i think its just another ranger thing?

Mine also... I seem to hear a ratcheting sound while it does it.
