The speedo/ odometer suddenly stopped working on my 2.5l 4x2 manual 2000 ford ranger and the abs light also came on, any suggestions. The two may be unrelated problems??

I think the speedo is an electronic type that recieves its signal from the speed sensor located on the rear axle. This is the same sensor used by the abs system. I don't know how to check the sensor itself but can check the wiring,

Maybe someone else knows how to check the sensor.

thanks, I located the speed sensor on the rear case and the wiring looks good going back to the engine, so I'll change out the sensor and see what happens. Thanks again.
