speed o meter problem???

ok my truck has i wierd thing it does with the speed odmter. IT WAVES AT ME LOL. it has done this sence ive got it. it is really annoyin!!! can i fix this are what??? thanks all.

your speedo cable is worn, or the nylon gear that drives the speedo....all rangers of out vintage seem todo it, they bounce just enough to be annoying

Try lubing the cable, it may help. Let us know, mine does the same thing, just to lazy to worry about it. Greg

what gbadgley said, you need to lube the cable. stay away from "wet" lubes, as they will dry up and eventually make it even worse. get your hands on some graphite powder if possible.

i used some spray lube called.crc white lithium grease.comes in spray can and claims won't wash off,melt or break down.

i had instrument cluster out for relampimg,so shooting some dowm the speedo cable was no problem.well one problem,WEAR safety glasses!it splashed back pretty good.

speedo does not wave back anymore,i watch the tach more anyway.

me too...its more accurate than my speedo at the moment

my speedo waves at any speed below 25MPH...never have gotten around to lubing the cable.
