I have a 1987 Ford ranger xlt, does anyone know the deck, and speaker sizes?

Should be a 2" DIN for the receiver and looks like 6"x8" for the speakers.

I'm a simple man...and your avatar and user name just made me lol...for real. Well played!

The front speakers are an odd size and a vehicle specific bolt pattern so will require an adapter.

Rangers used those unique front speakers in the top of the dask from introduction through '88.

In '89 they switched to mounting the front 5-1/4" speakers in the doors....

Good luck finding a dash speaker adapter without first a way to time travel to the '90s. The receiver kits are still sold.

The way I did it was to get nice 4" speakers, bandsaw the basket out of the OEM ones, then pop rivet new to frame for the correct bolt pattern. It works well, sounds well, gasket fits like stock.

5.25 speakers fit ok in the dash, I put 6.5 speakers in the doors, they were never meant to go there though

I cut holes in a spare set of grilles and mounted 4" speakers on top with their own grilles protruding, doesn't look too bad.

They had speakers behind the seat for the fancier standard cab trucks, dunno what size they were but I cut mine out for 6.5" speakers.

Depending on what radio you have you many need to get a different dash bezel or cut up the one you have. A modern 2" DIN radio won't fit in a bezel designed for the radio with two knobs that stick through the bezel with a smaller radio face. Everything else is the same though.
