Im thinking about getting an amp to give my speakers a little more juice. Anyone know of a good, decent priced one in the 50ish watt x 4 rms range?
Im looking at http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-GM-4300F-4-Channel-400-Watt-Amplifier/dp/tech-data/B000LYCWM4/ref=de_a_smtd and http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9907092. I know that sonys dont make very good car audio stuff but its the cheapest and highest powered(in the range i want) i could find, and the reviews dont look to bad. anyone have any suggestions?

if there the ones in the price range id take the poineer over the explode.........id take a monkey with a bass drum over an explode

actually i take it back kinda..... your head unit puts out 50w x4 right?????

well your getting something like 25wrms x4 so your going to spend prolly $150-175ish after the wiring kit and taxes and what not for something that puts out 40wrmsx4 thats alot of effort and money for 15w more, id look at your speaker specs, and save for an amp that puts out in rms what your speakers take in rms, unless all they handel is 40w

my head unit puts out 52watts x 4 max, but i think its only 17 watts rms, probably cuz its a sony but i have no complaints with it. The speakers i have now in the back are rated at 60 watts rms but i havent replaced the fronts yet and the ones i was looking at were only 40 or 50 watts, but then i found the same ones I have in the back for the same price as those other ones so ill probably just get those. I mainly just want to be able to bump up the volume without getting distortion.

then by all means the pioneer,

dont i wont to go higher though since the speakers can handle 60watts rms? the pioneer is only 40watts rms. maybe i just need to look around more...

If not for their quality, I avoid buying Sony when I can for their anti-consumer business practices. I've always used Pioneer head units and had lots of good luck with them. Never bought their amps though.

I'm running a Hifonics 100Wx2 @ 4ohms amplifier for my front speakers....I got it on ebay for something around $130 shipped. I wouldn't waste my time/money with a 50W/ch amp.

his speakers can only handle 60w, that 40w amp will work you might find hard to find a 60x4 but i use alpines thats mee prolly out of you budget but.

id still go with the poineer 60w or 40w x4

out of everything youve posted, id pick the pioneer in the first post. otherwise id go with the elemental designs amp that i posted. its 65x4@12.5v. so its probably making 70-75w when the car is running. dont know if you speakers can handle it though. im not very familiar with kenwoods, but usually 5-10w over the rated rms shouldnt hurt anything as long as you dont use your bass boost or loudness features to boost the shit out of the signal

rock out with your cock out
