Actually Shane, you are both right. Autolite and MC plugs are like Motorcraft and Bosch TFI modules. Made by the same company to two different sets of specs.


You gotta watch those cheapo plug wires too. I had some awful misfire issues right after I put a fully dressed (right down to plug wires) engine in my truck. I finally found it while I was adjusting the PS line trying to get a pinch out of it. I brushed the coil wire without touching the body and got the zap of my life.

Grabbed my low-mileage MC plugs wires off the old engine and she's been fine since.

I feel like I stuck my foot in my mouth....The truck ran great for almost a day and it started doing it again...when it started bogging down again I opened the hood and I dint see any arching. I waited for it to get dark and I can barely see it flashing at the end of the boot. I had put silicone electrical grease on the contacts.Im stuck again

I'll agree with you there, i'll still never buy Autolite plugs again

What do you think about it being the alternator? The volt gauge started acting funny when the truck became undriveable.
