Spark plug wires are different colors

I have a 1999 Ranger with a 3.0 liter motor that I just purchased.
I am doing a tune-up because the mutt gets terrible mileage.
I purchased a set of Borg Warner wires and two of the wires have orange silicon boots for the spark plugs and the other 4 wires are black.
The parts house confirmed that the other boxes of wires are the same.
The orange wires are the 2nd and 3rd shortest.
Any ideas as to why?

Extra insulation for those that my be closer to the manifolds??? Thats the only thing i can think of

I've worked in aftermarket parts for 25 years. The explaination is that those 2 wires probably fit more than just the 3.0L Vulcan and are probably made in another plant where those wires produced all have that color boot. As long as they are the right length and fit don't worry about it.

Just a note. The box says BWD but they aren't Borg Warner. Borg Warner got out of the after market parts business a while back and sold the "BWD" logo to Standard Ignition products. If you find BWD, Standard or GP Sorensen it's all the same just different part #'s and boxes.
