Spark Plug Mishap

That's true. Snug or just enough to compress the washer a little is generally good enough on spark plugs. I like to use a small amount of Copaslip antiseize on the threads, but a little goes a long way.

Spark plugs are one of those threaded things that love to get hard to remove over time anyway.

In my experience with automotive threaded fasteners in general, 90% need antiseize and far less than 10% need threadlocker such as Loctite. I've used Loctite only a few times in my life. Usually the problem is the fastener becoming hard to remove, not that it's trying to vibrate loose.

Thread locker will also keep a bolt from rusting in place.
