Spare tire hangers

I prefer the hinge style that I have on my 97. having the cable rust through and break and lose the tire would suck.

The one thing on the older hing style, is that the eyebolt that holds the tire to the carrier on my truck rusted itself to the carrier, and when I tried to remove it the eyebolt snapped off. had to source a junkyard part for that and then work the rest of the eyebolt off . cleaned the threads up and put copious amounts of antisieze compound on the new eyebolt..

for the OP, what part was cut off? the entire thing? (the tube that goes from frame rail to frame rail and the actual bar that connects the tube to the rear most frame crossmember and has the tire bolted to it)

when I replaced my eyebolt I grabbed the bar that the tire bolts to from the junkyard, so if you have the part that goes frame rail to frame rail, I can hook you up with the rest, but you will need to find an eyebolt or a sutable replacement bolt to hold the tire to the bar.
