Spare Tire Carrier

Will the spare carrier below the bed of an 89 Ranger fit a 30x9.5R15 tire? How big of a tire can you stuff in there?

I have a 235/75/R15 stuffed under mine, which was a very tight fit. It is a very close size to 30/9.5/R15. However, mine is a 99, not an 89.

My carrier is slightly bent making it just a bit smaller. It won't even a stock size tire anymore. My guess is that the 30 won't fit.
