So at about half an hour ago I realize i havent eaten since lunch around noon and its nine now. So i go to the kitchen and decide on a can of Campbell's Chunky Potato and Ham Chowder. I grab the can and on the first upward motion while shaking it the top flies off, releasing the entire can's contents hitting everything in the kitchen from me to the fridge to the counter and the dog(who wasnt too upset about it). there wasnt one single chunk of soup left in the can! I can never get each last piece of soup out but i did tonight!
So I went upstairs to change and when I got back my dog has the situation pretty much under control, dang near clean. all I had to do was wipe off the light track on the ceiling and the corners of the cabinets.

So this is my rant. I have just had my ass kicked by a cheap, delicious can of soup.:owned:

Reminds me of the time my mom went to open a container of apple sauce, it was in a plastic container and had built up pressure on the inside and had swelled. When she opened the top apple sauce flew EVERYWHERE. And to top it off this was our first dinner in a brand new house that was just built.

Well atleast you don't have to worry about the dog getting botulism

Botulism doesn't cause can's to swell.

Though it generally isn't a good idea to eat things from swelled cans
(the rule on canned food is "if in doubt throw it out") or cans with
discolored contents or "off" smells...

And cleaning up messes like that is something for which dogs are nearly irreplaceable.

My neighbors Doschund, who basically had the run of the neighborhood
including INSIDE most of the neighbor's houses (including mine when my
cat wasn't at home) was very efficient at doing nasty jobs like "cleaning"
the crud out of catfood dishes and the like...

Sadly that dog was hit and killed by a car labor day weekend.
