hey i have an 03 ranger and was wondering what head unit and sub you would recommend. i already have 2 kicker ks680's installed in my doors. also just looking for somewhat cheap stuff this is just a work truck.

they suck. there name says it all. as in "pyle of crap"

stay away from brands like pyle, pyramid, dual, lanzar, jensen, sound storm, lightning audio, visonik, ect

stay with mainstream brands, pioneer, kenwood, some sony products, jbl, blaupunkt, polk, infinity, phoenix gold, rockford fosgate, focal ,kicker

you cant go wrong.

ya the prices are right on the other stuff, but its crap, and you will hate it.

The HU is a good suggestion but you might look at one a bit cheaper so you can afford a decent amp too. Don't forget about wires and a box for the sub. Crutchfield has a great tutorial on building boxes yourself if your are on a budget.

In my opinion Alpine is the best Head Units and 4channl amps then JLaudio has best speakers and Rockford fosgate has best subs and sub amps. But b ready to pay for these brands.

Headunits - Look on your local craigslist for a nice used one. This will save you tons of money.

Sub - If you jsut want a lil bass look on ebay for RE subwoofers. They have a RE RE line and are very affordable and are great lowend subs.

Amp - Hifonics and Fusion are awesome budget amps. Look on ebay for those too.

Let craigslist be your friend to most of this tho. Subs i would be iffy gettin like that but you can always check them out with a DMM before you buy.

thanks also i really want a kicker subwoofer because i have kicker speakers, so i want to keep goin with the same company the whole way.

if you're going with ebay dont get anything used, they're kinda gross. also www.partsexpess.com has premade boxes for 10's and 12's that are well put together and cheaper than you can buy the materials to make them.
