That would be pretty typical for my luck too lol.
I actually slept poorly and chose to have a lazy morning before going to work so I haven't touched the truck yet..
I will double check it's not bent though I do find it unlikely. I didn't rev the engine out and it didn't seem to be bouncing around very hard as I couldn't find any distinct markings on the valve cover.
The radiator came with a temperature switch that imo doesn't make sense. It's rated for 185/175 and I bought a factory spec 198 degree thermostat..
I decided to order 2 different 1/8th npt switches as I had already bought a housing to add the sensor inline with the upper radiator hose per my friend's recommendation.
One of the switches is rated for 210/195 and the other 200/185.
Since one of my wishes from the e-fan conversion is efficiency, I will try the 210 switch first as that should give the radiator a chance to cool the engine without the fan...
If that doesn't work how I like (or the switch is a dud) then I have the other one to try which I think should still fit well with the factory thermostat spec but would probably end up running the fan a lot more often like even when cruising on the highway.
I probably won't have an update for a few days but I am excited wrap it up and see how it runs. I listened to an
old clip from around when I had bought the truck and I think that the engine is quieter (ignoring the loose pushrod).
So I am looking forward to having the cooling system in and being able to actually take it on a drive
