havent been on much since i work full time and see my girl full time also haha, well the timing on the bike went to hell so i moved back to the explorer and now it wont shift into gear using the clutch and i only have about an inch of play in the clutch so im thinking slave cylinder but i would like for your guy's take on my problem.

How does the fluid level look in the clutch reservoir?

Bleeding could get the pedal back.

it was empty so i filled it but it never went down and i cant find a bleed valve or nipple for the hose

Slave cylinder.

yea panama i was alright till all this vehicle probs and just putting 1200 in new tires on the expo less than 2 weeks ago and now not being able to replace the slave cause i have no time

Yes, since fluid disappeared your slave may be leaking :bawling:

You can feel around inside by the Master and see if it was leaking.

I think the '92 will have a separate bleeder valve just above where the hose goes into the bell housing.

You really need two people to try and bleed it, one working the clutch pedal and one working the bleeder valve.

And make sure to keep reservoir full.

Because you have air in the Master, empty reservoir, it will take awhile.

There is short cut.
google: How To Bleed A Ford Ranger Clutch Master Cylinder

Good video on bleeding the master.

ronD thank you that vid is a good one i was looking under explorer and never found one and forgot to look under ranger also

REALLY??? Strange... I just connected a hose to the bleeder and then fed it into an old peanut butter jar. Have to keep fluid over the end of the hose though so it doesn't suck any air back in. Just pump the pedal til bubbles stop coming out. Keep an eye on the reservoir or you will have to start all over. Long hose helps so you can get the jar out from under the truck and set it on the ground where you can see it. Clear hose is better too.

Forgot to mention I bench bled the master. But if you take it loose from the firewall and do the tip up you can get it to burp out most of the air.

Did all my brakes by myself using the same method.

On another note... Compared to the hydraulic clutch on the old Fiat X-1/9s ... RBV clutch bleeds are a piece of cake.

panama you have to hold the clutch in while you close the bleeder valve or you suck air back in thats why

I used a short hose that fits on the bleeder then into a larger hose that is hooked above the bleeder.
Air and fluid comes out, larger hose allows air to go up to the top, fluid stays at the bottom.

Simple setup, made it when I had to work alone, lol.

Two people is just simpler for most.

good to hear from you.....................

more time/no money..................more money/no time

doorgunner you got that right, im working upward of 70hrs a week and then after work i drive an hour to go see my girl, get back home at 1 am and back up at 3:30 to get ready for work so my time is streched real thin and only way i can work on the truck is if i work on it from 1-3am and that would leave me dead at work lol and possibly out of a job

Glad to here you are doing good, I just got more bad news on my B2 this evening. Its running great, however the front tires are leaning in towards eachother on the bottom. So I decided to go to the local tire shop to find out that it could possibly be the tie rod ends which is $800 at least to have fixed. Anyone else have this problem, and what's the fix? Tired of wearing tires out on the inside, and not wanting to put a new set of tires on until I find out and fix what's wrong. If it is ball joints how hard are they to do myself?

I'll have about 90 hours on this paycheck, been working a lot of hours, then cleaning out a bunch of stuff from my shop and been selling on ebay, so I'm actually starting to get a head a little bit. I figure its probably going to take me at least the rest of this year before I can sit comfortably from paycheck to paycheck, but I'm happy to have this job and its 4 miles from home so I can easily walk to and from work if I absolutely have to, I have a bicycle as well if I need that too. I'm actually starting to look at putting money away for a rainy day, which I haven't been able to do in several years. I feel better, I'm not as tired, and I'm not so depressed anymore. Its amazing how much difference a steady job and less worries makes in a person's life.
