I reconnected the air intake and noticed that there is a plug that seems to be missing something, is there a sensor/hose that's supposed to be attached to the opening?

OK so I found a pic of someone else's engine, and it looks like I need to move the sensor to that opening. What is the tube that is sticking out of the opening closer to the MAF?

Where does your pcv valvevtube go? On my 3.0l, it goes from PCV to intake plenum.

The sensor you're talking about is the IAT - intake air temperature sensor.

I consulted my '97 and sure enough, the intake air temp sensor is in that hole...

Eric, the breather hose is the one that goes before the air muffler to the valve cover, the PCV goes from the bottom side of the engine to just behind the throttle.
