after about 11/2 hours driving the truck acts like it has vapor lock. sputters stalls and maybe hard restart, maybe no start until it has set for an hour or so. changed out relays- all of them- but no immeadiate cure. temp gage is only slightly above normal, no codes
fuel pump is a year old aftermarket. 3rd fuel pump in 5 years
any hints will be appreciated

After the next stall loosen gas cap and see if you hear a loud rushing in of air, and then see if it starts.
EVAP system sucks gas vapor out of the tank using engine vacuum, it should regulate the pressure so it doesn't get to high a negative pressure in the tank.

Also you didn't mention fuel filter, I assume that was changed

When it comes to rest, turn the key to OFF. Turn off the radio or any other noise source, and turn the key to ON. If things are working as designed, you should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds as the key is turned. If you don't, your pump is not turning on as designed. I have read, do not know, that there are a lot of pumps in the aftermarket that are not worth the gas it would take to blow them up. I do not have experience in that field, knock on wood, but if yours doesn't make noise, it is the wiring, the relay, the rollover switch, or the ECM. If you have a 'relay module', there are relays inside that run the computer & the pump & the A/C clutch. They can fail also.
The rollover can be checked for voltage with a test light with the engine stopped. Ground the connector, and probe the wires while the key is turned to ON. The light should turn on for a few seconds, on BOTH wires, in and out. If not, the switch needs to be reset.
