Somebody's Jealous

yeah its a t-rex alright, slow and heavy, ugly as hell, and its brain has unfortunately been used as fuel for its max torque rating. BUT it will be great for those guys who somehow relate the size of their pecker to the size of their truck....

GM always shows up late to the party, whether its a Raptor knock off, the HHR coming out waaaaay after the PT Cruiser becomes bland, or even the whole rear engine boxer in Corvairs to imitate VW's that had them (and Tatra's before) back in the 30's, not to mention the whole "pony car" thing got it's idea from the only car with a "pony" on it...

Yeah, and lets not forget the latest pony car copy cat job; trying to retro the Camaro after Ford already did the Mustang.

Plus.......wasn't Dodge's 6X6 truck called T-Rex?

i think the comparison should really between the Raptor and the Ramrunner. For a Dodge, I think this one looks bad ass. plus, i'm kind of a big fan of KORE products, and they helped develop the suspension on this truck.

Whoops. I missed the part where they said it wasn't meant to be a Baja truck.

I agree with doyouquaxu though, if you were comparing the Raptor to something, it would be the Ramrunner.

I don't know what these companies are thinking really. No REAL off-road enthusiast would ever...and I do mean EVER roll on 20's in the mud. Unless they really didn't know what they were doing. It's just as bad as that vid that popped up not long ago with the guy trying to wheel his Porche Cayenne.

How many of you want to bet that the first guy that tries to flex this beast snaps those leafs like twigs? Typical GM issue...

Now, if someone were to actually be serious about building an offroad monster, they'd make it solid axle front and rear with locker options. Dodge offered solid front axle in their 1/2 tons up until just a couple years ago...until they finally buckled under the pressure of soccer moms wanting a comfy ride out of their truck.

It was either that or people getting sick of throwing balljoints at them and still getting a craptacular ride...

The Raptor is a better looking truck, but both trucks are worthless around here.

Got a truck that can fly across the desert at high speed, or one that will sink by the bow just like the Titanic in mud... in a place where land is selling at $5000 an acre for cropground... so unless it is a worktruck it is hard to get any "wheeling" worked in without getting shot at.

Come on guys, it has custom front control arms! It must be desert worthy....... I honestly can not imagine that thing getting any air....... It looks like every other Chevy out there with tires sitting outside the wheel wells....., except the concept has built in fender flares to cover the bad backspacing of the wheels......BTW...Cough....Cough, it looks like shit.:icon_rofl:

I own a GMC crewcab, have owned chevy/GMC all my life. I have an 87 ranger as well. like many have stated, most buyers never use them off road. The GMC I have now will probably be the last one, (unless it's an older one) - not because they are inferior, but since the federal bailout - read buyout - GM is now a federal puppet, and Ford is now the only american private enterprise automotive venture left, Ford has earned my business by standing on their own 2 feet! I've pulled out many stuck Fords, including one f350 crewcab diesel that I pulled out with a Dodge/Mitsubishi D50, and been pulled out by a few fords too, So it all comes down to preference. I think the GMC in question looks like shit!

Although it is usually an inverse relationship!

I almost thought that post was going to be one sided. I thought you was going to go the directon of saying you pull out Fords all day long and you never get stuck in your GMC. It takes a real man to admit that you've pulled out a few and you've been pulled out by a few. I glad someone who has always been a GM "lover" to admit that they arn't brain washed like almost every GM "lover" I've come across. You sir are rep'd.

Let's not forget Chevy doesn't have an engine, and they don't have a transmission. The engine is an Isuzu, the trans is an Allison. Same with Dodge, the engine they use is a Cummins....Ford is the only one that uses a Ford Engine and a Ford transmission...Not to mention as stated above, that Ford was smarter than taking a handout. They decided we will sell Jaguar and Mazda, drop the Mercury line, and survive without a handout or layoffs...

I always wonder since buyout how companies will change... guess gmc is going the way of completely copying others.. its just weird because all the commercials they ever show are about towing and dropping dirt in the bed. then they make that. i guess every company has to spread its legs sometime.(I dont mean for sex lol, i meant as venturing into new terrain).
but really i have no idea wtf im talking about but love to stay up late and type haha.
