yeah its a t-rex alright, slow and heavy, ugly as hell, and its brain has unfortunately been used as fuel for its max torque rating. BUT it will be great for those guys who somehow relate the size of their pecker to the size of their truck....
GM always shows up late to the party, whether its a Raptor knock off, the HHR coming out waaaaay after the PT Cruiser becomes bland, or even the whole rear engine boxer in Corvairs to imitate VW's that had them (and Tatra's before) back in the 30's, not to mention the whole "pony car" thing got it's idea from the only car with a "pony" on it...
Now, if someone were to actually be serious about building an offroad monster, they'd make it solid axle front and rear with locker options. Dodge offered solid front axle in their 1/2 tons up until just a couple years ago...until they finally buckled under the pressure of soccer moms wanting a comfy ride out of their truck.

I own a GMC crewcab, have owned chevy/GMC all my life. I have an 87 ranger as well. like many have stated, most buyers never use them off road. The GMC I have now will probably be the last one, (unless it's an older one) - not because they are inferior, but since the federal bailout - read buyout - GM is now a federal puppet, and Ford is now the only american private enterprise automotive venture left, Ford has earned my business by standing on their own 2 feet! I've pulled out many stuck Fords, including one f350 crewcab diesel that I pulled out with a Dodge/Mitsubishi D50, and been pulled out by a few fords too, So it all comes down to preference. I think the GMC in question looks like shit!
Stay in school, Son.
