i had to replace my battery cable, but the guy at the junk yard gave me a different one and told me it would work.
the stock cable (negative) went from the battery to the frame under the motor, and only had a ground cable on the battery end, and went to the frame beside the silanoid(sp).
the one he gave me also had a ground wire coming off the bottom end, can i go ahead and attach the bottom end to the starter and use the small ground wire to go to the frame?

and also, this may be a dumb question but can i use 1/2inch square tubing to replace my body mounts to get a small body lift? i dont care about the ride comfort as long as it is effective. i know i would have to get new hardware.

sorry for the stupidity, ive never been mush of a mechanic and im trying to learn...

The ground wire will work fine, I wouldnt use the square stock for body lift though, I would get some 3inch outer diameter washers with the inner diameter equivalent to our bolts and tack weld 2 inches worth together and use them for your body mounts.

i had hockey pucks on my old trail rig for a 1 inch lift. they did great and still looked real good even after 3 winters here. the rubber was quiet and gave it at least a little flexible cushioning. if steel tubing is what you want, then i'd use 2x3 inch with at least 3/16ths -1/4 inch think walls. you'll also be needing longer bolts and new washers. get grade 8 strength.
new body bushings go for about $50, at least that is what i paid for mine a couple years ago. good luck.
