I was wondering if anyone knows where i could look for parts for a solo chainsaw model 611? I checked with a local small engine parts store and the official solo site and neither one had ANY info. for my saw. i was able to piece together a carb kit from left over parts from many carbs I've rebuilt. I need a bar, which i'm sure i could find from another saw, and it needs a new clutch, pads wore almost to nothing and one spring is broke. (got it used) This saw is absolutely awesome (starts great, runs great, sounds great) so it would be worth fixing, and i would put it up against a Stihl, even though it might not win but it would be a close one. any thoughts.

this page is the best I know of, and it doesn't have the bar mount pattern listed, has pretty much nothing on the regular 610 but there's more on the 610AV.

with enough looking through bars I bet you could fine one that you could modify to get close enough to work... actually I think that page has a photo listing of what all the patterns look like if you look through them you might find a match...

hey, good luck with your search, i am a parts salesmen for stihl for a saw repair shop here, we had a Solo come into the shop to get fixed, i spent 3 days searching for parts all over north america and germeny with no luck, even got a e-mail back from solo of North America saying they do not stock parts for there saws and that they are not avalible.

From what i was told for solo, most of there saws are a "one" shot saw, once they need parts, you toss it and buy a new one!!

Dont know what else to say, good luck!!

:agree:
At my shop, we are Husqvarna and Echo dealers and thats about all we can get parts for. I looked in my bar and chain book, and they list several solo chain saws, but not that particular model. For a bar and chain, you might look for an Oregon bar and chain dealer. Chances are Oregon made the bar for solo and painted solo's name on it. Good luck!

ditch the solo and buy a husqy. i own and run three myself, my dad has another three, and i have to take my socks off to count how many people i know that are professional loggers, arborists, etc that will run nothing by husqvarna.

wow, i hate to here that. But my uncle bought the saw at a sale, where a near by town was selling some stuff and he gave me the saw for free. He bought an old police car (unmarked) i think it's about a '90 crown vic or LTD w/ a 302 for $5, no joke.
I was using a homelite saw, which also needs a bar, and it doesn't have much power, i was hopefull i could have gotten this going again. I guess ebay is about the only thing i can do and find some used parts. (not the bar obviously) I'll also keep my eye out for a different saw too. thanks for the info.

Oregon should have a bar listed, chain as well.

We have 4 saws...

A husky 55 and a Husky 51...Bouught the 55 new and got the 51 free...needed a new coil and it has alot of hours but is a good backup saw.

A cheap ass homlite after JD bought them out, and my 1951 Homlite model 20MCS...It was the first one man saw homlite made. 36"bar, 1/4" chain. Hey...it is better than a drag saw (my boss has one of those)

If you can't get parts, or if they are too much $$$, get a larger husky....the ones made in Europe. Stihl uses alot of plastic now. My Dad's friend bought one for alot of $$$$, and eventually went back to his old 28" Homelite XL. It spent more time in the shop than the woods.

We have an antique wall where we have a bunch of old school Huskys, Homelites, McCulloch, Echo, and Remingtons. The coolest one we have is the one just to the right of the little husky dog and mini semi truck. It is one of the rare twin cylinder chain saws. It's a BEAST!

And you can barely see it, but over to the far right in each of those pictures, we have some saws hanging vertically. Including Huskys 3120XP: 118.3ccs, or 8.4HP and a bar length of 48".

i love McCulloch. found a Mac 10-10 in a dumpster, fixed the pull start and it started on the 3rd pull. gave that to my dad. i have a Mac 610 with a 20" bar. strong saw. heavy though. thats why i got my echo with a 16" bar. i can hold that thing out at arms length with one arm all day and it doenst cut bad either.

I used to have a 650 Mac with a 32" bar. I loved my big Mac.
Last summer I bought an old 20" Poulan for $15. Turns out it had been put away with half a tank of gas. Sat there for 5 years. Ran great for 2 tanks of gas. Then the crud started coming loose. Any idea's how to clean it out?

Well I have 3 poulan 3400. 2 of them has a bow blade. the other one has a strait bar. love them all.
