i curently have a twin beam front axle and im want to put a soild front axle in my 1986 ford ranger 4x4 what should i do and what would be the best axle to put

plus what type of axle does thr 93 explorers have in the rear

a d35 swap is ideal

but we need more data like what type of use and where used ect

Actually, if you really want to be serious about doing this you should do some research and find out what kind of axles there are out there. Find out what other people have done. Find some info and then ask a question about why one is better than the other.

Explorers have 31 spline 8.8 inch axles in them.

the explorer came with the 8.8 rear axle. the easyest front strait axle to find would probly be a dana 30 from a jeep. or you can try and find a early bronco [1970] or so dana 44, its not leafs in front it uses coils like your truck has now, or you can do a dana 35 out of an explorer and put dana 44 knuckles on it. good luck, hope i was some help.

i also wanted to know what vechicles offer these axles and would there be much mods to do this

I agree. Search around a bit first to come up with some more specific questions. know that this is not a bolt on mod, there is welding and fabrication required and will probably cost a few thousand if you do it right depending on what axle you use.

all i wanted to know is what size is the best for the mud and what vechicle they caome in and what do you need to put it in and what kind of challange it will be

ok thanks for the links now im asking is there anyone who has done it and would be willing to give me pointers and tell me about their experience
