Been waiting on parts to finish my draglink so ive been searchin for shocks for the rear of my truck. Will skyjackers made for a 97 with 8 inches of lift work for my 99 sas ranger. Got chevy 63's minus overload, stock block plus 2 inch lift block (save the shit about stacked blocks its not permanent) and the equivalent to a belltech 6400 drop shackle. There on sale now for 71.98 shipped. Right now I got my stock 8.8 in the rear, but will have my 9'' later with shock tabs in the same location as the 8.8s. Was wondern about length and whether they would work on a newer 8.8 than 97.

Measuring tape. You need to measure then choose shocks based on collapsed and extended length.

The worst thing is they dont give you the actual length of the shocks. Ive seen on some sites they give you the shock length for the 4inch but nothing bigger. If it aint raining tomorrow I will be messing with the red ranger and I will get measurements. This thing isnt gonna be a flexy thing just need some shocks on the rear to keep me from bouncin all over the place.

every manufacturer will have the extended and compressed lengths of their shocks.

I am using skyjacker 6 inch lifted shocks off of my 90 model ranger on my 99 they bolted right up

Just about any generic shock will bolt up, but if you get the lengths wrong your going too have problems. Shocks dont like to be bottomed out or over extended. The only correct way is to measure for the correct shock.
