I wasnt sure where to put this thread so here it is. Im an idiot and left my window cracked for a few hours today. So naturally, it rained all day. I only had it opened maybe an inch but i have rain guards so i thought i would be fine. Well, i go to sit down in my truck to go to work and the left side of my seat is soaked....What do i do?? Hopefully im not the first person that this has happened to.
Whats the best way to dry my seat out?

Sam

soak it up as much as you can with a towl and let it dry thats about it

damn...i thought there might be something i could put in my truck that would soak up all the moisture overnight...kinda like the cell phone that got dropped in the pool. Just take it apart and put it in a bag of rice overnight and the rice soaks up all the moisture. Now i wait for the wise guy to chime in and tell me "put your seat in a huge bag of rice."

soak it up w/ a Towel and then get a hair dryer and keep it about 6" away from the foam. Flick the Dryer back and fourth so not to get the foam hot and it will dry just fine.

take the seat out and leave it in ur house and let it dry hahahaha. no but really only thing you can do is just let it air dry as best as possible and if it stinks get some good cleaner and a ton of autofrebreeze

+1 great minds think alike:icon_thumby:

Leave the window open on a sunny day to let it dry. Wear a dry pair of pants and let that soak it up. Drive with the A/C on full heat to give it a dryer effect inside the cab.

Towel and some applied pressure looks to be the best treatment. And don't worry, you are not the first that its happened to. Horizontal rains, gotta love them.

Back when I had my Integra I got drunk and forgot to close my sunroof when it started raining.....alll f-in night. I layed about two rolls of paper towels over the seats on the way to work and when I went to head home from work my seats looked brand new :D

Get a vinyl interior! :D

There's a reson why work trucks still have them!

Please please please tell me you came home, parked your car, forgot about the sunroof and then got drunk.

thanks for all the help...i guess ill try the hair dryer then let it air dry. i just feel like an idiot because this is the second time this has happened...kinda. I got caught in the rain a month or two ago then got in my truck and drove home, which also got my seat soaked. im just kinda pissed because it left a kinda musty smell in there. i guess im just going to have to febreeze the hell out of it

happened to me once, and here in Oregon, it rains, lol

couple times driving most of it got soaked up into my pants, I also had one of those tubs from walmart that gets the moisture out of the air...i'm not sure what they are called though

Leave the it sit in rice with the windows down over night. Do no try to turn in on or use it until it has been completely dried out or you may cause further damage to the circuit boards. This should fix everything, but you may still experience some erratic or unwanted operation as a result of the exposure to water.

Wait, sorry... those are the instructions for when you get your phone wet.

lol, i started reading that and i was like what the f*** is this guy talking about...that gave me a good laugh thanks
