i have a 1994 2.3 spash, and there is a guy on craigslist selling tons of turbo parts. i was wondering if anyone had a list of parts you need to turbo this bad boy. I'm pretty sure i have the obd type 1 ignition. but i have never played
with any turbos before and any help would be appreciated! My buddy's is also a ford tech so if i get stuck he can help me out, i just need someone to point me in the right direction.

well, turbo(stock mustang svo or turbo coupe works fine), boost bypass valve or blow off valve, wastegate, larger injectors, larger mass air sensor, a good tune for the ecu, turbo exhaust manifold, intercooler is always a plus, forged pistons if you plan on pushing past 5lbs of boost, better head gasket(felpro makes one, like 50 bucks, cant remember the part number of it at the moment)...well, thats all i can think of off the top of my head...ya'll add to it as you see fit. also...go under the tech section of the site and scroll down to the 2.3 turbo swap section. lots of good infor to be had there!!!

main problem with turboing a N/A 2.3 is the rods. the rods dont like boost. also the pistons arnt cut for boost. try finding a set of forged rods and pistons out of a turbo 2.3, put those into your block and that should hold it. youll need to tap a line in your oil pan for a oil return line, youll need a tune or you can get a turbo coupe or svo ecm(perferably a 88' turbo coupe ecm). also need a 88' t/c air vane meter. the ecm should work with your harness, but youll have to repin it to match the ecm. if you have any questions let me know. ive done my research on this built and swap. was in the processes of doin it and just gave up.

it's not the rods that are the issue, all rods are the same, the forged pistons are what you want...
