so what do you guys know about the h233b?

im thinking about swapping one of these into my ranger and am looking for advice thru experience.

No personal experience, but I do know it's a beefy axle, not so sure about the parts availability... I wouldn't do it, just because it would be alot easier to find something else...

well they are quite abundant and a local wrecking yard has several and all axles go for 80 bucks a piece there. its the width i want and super strong, my only concern is matching up gearing with a dana unit out front you know

What about the front? You need to match up to the 6 lug pattern of the rear... I think you can get a 4.90 ration, which would match up with a 4.88 front, and I think a 4.1 maybe, there's not much choice I believe...

waggy d44 is 6 lug from the factory and the same width as the 233. and yeas im hoping on landing a 4.90 rear to match with a 4.88 front. im hoping that will be close enough?

the rule is .05 difference. that axle has the following ratios available. 4.11, 4.875, 5.13 and 5.88 If you are going to weld the Diff i would say go for it.
