so my 97 is being a pansy, It's not starting unless I use starting fluid, starts and runs fine afterwards. I'm trying to get this ready for winter duty.

So it's just at start up? You spray it and it helps it get going? Sounds like you may want to either replace or check the plugs and wires or check fuel pressure. Sounds to me like it my not have enough fuel or something.

Cycle key three times before starting to prime pump. If that helps your check valve is gone.
