My credo
keep it simple stupid
So I got this 2010 ranger 2wd, 2.3l auto. When I got it most of the fluids were close to dry the trans was extremely low and had a big leak at the pan. Had it towed, to my drive way. I have been slowly bringing it back to life. I have it down to one code. p2195, which is fuel related. the issue is this, when slowing down or stopping, occasionally when you give it gas it just won't go. If you put it in N, or sometimes you have to stope put in park, or reverse, and then it goes. fluid level is good. filter has been changed and because of the issue with the leak lots of fresh fluid was ran through it while I got the pan leak figured out. (waiting on a new pan now but no leak currently) I have taken it to a trans shop and after driving it, they did not have the issue and said that the gearing was strong, and that it seemed like it was shifting good. Took it to another shop that has a nice computer interface, they told me that other than the p2195, a fog light relay and and ghost 4wd code, its good. I know the transmission was replace before I acquired it and that lots of work was done on the truck by one shop. The work I have discovered is less than stelar. When it is working the truck has good power and shifts what I think is normal. It seems to happen more often if it is hot. I am thinking maybe a clog in the valve body or solenoid. Thinking of a complete flush after using a detergent in it. Any help or knowledge would be appreciated.

i would go with your plan of trying to clean/flush and see what happens after that

if anyone is interested I am still tinkering when I have time with it. the issue, besides the fluid I think still needs flushed is that the pressure solenoid was not fully installed it did not have the bracket on it. It would not come out when the pan was installed but it was not fully seated. No fully seated and will see if that makes a difference.
