So I bought this s10 for $180 dollars and all it needed was gas. It's a 91, single cab short bed, 2wd, 2.5l, auto, with 111,000. The kid said he got it at 55 and it shit. So I trailered it to my buddys house and put gas in it and it ran but a bit rough. Never in my life did I think I was going to lift a 2wd but it was damn near free so i'm going to do it. Anybody know of any cheap ways to lift these trucks? I'll try to get a pic sometime.

haha! 180 bucks? no way! where r u located at dude? also... how the hell did u roll ur ranger off the cliff? (dumb question)....

haha!

Don't those trucks have IFS?

IFS and cheap do not go together.

i sold that piece for 500 and bought an 87 ranger

I was about to lift a 97 2wd s-10 and decided against it heard from others that S-10s have 2 framerails butt welded together to make a "Boxed" frame up front. The 2wd frame tends to split where the upper a arms mount under serious prerunning. Still have it, thinking about ditching the a arms and going with I beams.

You should always base decisions on what you heard from others. It saves you the work of actually doing anything...at all.

The frames aren't butt welded. They lap. But welded means two ends are placed together and welded. Lapped, which GM does to use different wheelbases with the same ends in a modular fashion, is perfectly acceptable.

What is serious prerunning?

You do realize that it's worth $0.08/lb and weighs around 3300# right?

What I'm saying is that you can scrap it and make a quick 50% profit.

Failing that most U-pull-it's pay a premium for RUNNING trucks
because they use them for yard vehicles

Hell I could sell that truck for $300 cash at any of three u-pull-it's near me...

I'm tryin my best here because friends don't let friends drive chevy's.

buy a cheap front axle outta any jeep and strip the guts. and build a leaf setup and block the back super hgih. haha redneck but cool

seriously ..... the only Chevy I would consider would be a Suburban because i can't afford an Excursion and anybody that has a 4 door bronco wants way too much for them.
