Drivin to lincoln last night and almost got in an accident. There was a car on 121 goin the opposite direction and right about the tume we were close enough to switch to low beams she starts veering off the road on her side. She jerks back onto the road while slamming on the brakes, rears lock up and she goes into a spin crosses the line sideways and slams into the ditch on my side of the road about 4' in front of me. Mind you shes now pointed the same direction as me. I stopped, turned around and made sure she was okay and pulled her back onto the road and followed her to the nearest open gas station so she could park and let her nerves settle. Lucky as hell we didnt hit each other

then today it started snowing for real and i was out of town doing some last minute christmas shopping. On the way home there were tons of people off the road, most of them in the median on the interstate. Since i had my chains and straps with me i stopped and helped out as many people as i could. Now comes the fun part one of the stuck vehicles was a full size dodge 4x4. Hooked up and had him out in under 2 minutes. The next one was kind of a double wammy, i didn't catch the make and model of the car that was stuck but i did notice the duramax 4x4 that got stuck trying to pull it out. Once again i hooked up and pulled them both out in about 5 minutes.

If you're waiting on the punch line here it is; i did it all with an open diff 2wd f250. Granted its a 7.3psd, but still its a 2wd!

In other news i did see a dead ranger. It list control on the interstate and slammed into the support column for an overpass. RIP gold gen 3, RIP.

That is all.

boy! that must have been fun showing some of them what fords can really do.
lol

It does suck to hear about the golden 3rd gen may it rest in pieces :shok:

I think a lot of it is the driver. Take the chebby for instance, he drove down into the median and lined up right in front of the car then just dug himself in. I stayed up on the pavement, rumble strips are awesome for this, and used two 20' chains and a 30' strap so i could pull as straight as possible and not get pulled into the median myself.

glad to hear other people are willing to stop and give a helping hand... sweet deal bud

Kudos to you for helping out. Sounds like fun, but be careful. There was a truck driver here in Utah that got hit and killed while stopping and helping someone last Thursday.

I always enjoy showing up a Dodge. I used to despise Chevy's, but not so much anymore. But, I would rather have no car than a Mopar.

Nice dude! I helped a lady out of the ditch in her jeep she slid off the side down a 10 foot 60 degree slope pulled her out in about 4 minutes. Wasn't helping that the only other guy who stopped apparently knows nothing about getting vehicles recovered. As soon as i went he slammed on the gas and the jeep lost traction and went all the way in before I could regain control.

Anyways Nice saves man, good to know some people still stop to help.

I did combat recovery for a year in iraq. I cant just drive by and not help.

yea its mostly driver

a few ice storms ago i had another fun opportunity, this time it was showing the new guys whats up. when my idm was on the fritz and i was only running on 4 cylinders i saw an '06 ford superduty diesel broke down at the bottom of a dangerously swervey exit ramp. he gelled up and plugged his filter right in the middle of traffic. running on 4 cylinders i pulled him 2 miles to the dealership to grab a new filter. best part was we got a state police escort the whole way there.

then mother nature took a dump on me. the day i put the idm in and got it running right the temp dropped below 0* F and i fell victim to a gelled up filter.
