my accelerator pedal seems stiff, not stuck just NOT smooth.I know it's a 24 year old truck, but would a new cable or spring help? its an 86 2.3 FI that sat a long time before i got it

you can try oiling the cable either take it off andsquirt some oil down the cable and work it in good or if you have air squirt some oil in the cable and force it thru with air until you get some out the other side

take the cable off of the throttle body and see if the throttle itself moves smooth, then cycle the cable itself, just eliminate things one at a time, a cable with no lube in it could cause that but usually they'll stick if they're dry

will do -thank you guys for the help
