So about 6 years ago my neighbor parked his 1994 Ranger and bought a new truck. I asked him if it broke down, he said yes, he was pulling into the neighborhood and it started pouring white smoke out of the passenger side fender well he said he was barely able to get it to stop at his house and just parked it because he wanted a new truck anyway. I ended up buying it from him for $300, put a new caliper on the front and then gave it to my dad. He's been driving it ever since. Well I borrowed it a for a bit and am now going to do a little updating and modifying. Figured I'd post a progress thread.

1994 4 Cylinder Standard Cab Manual.

So we'll let the pics begin.

This is what it looked like yesterday:

Kind of an ugly duckling, but we'll see what we can do...

after doing a little research and looking around I went to a local off road shop here in the city. I purchased five 15" Pro Comp matt black wheels and some 31" Iron Man Tires. (after seeing the tires in person I wish I had chosen something else but oh well, they were cheap)

Also had a spray in bed Liner put in and took off the horrible diamond plate rails.

This is some of the stuff in the works..

2004 Door Panels (converting to power windows with an A1 Electric Kit) and power locks/keyless entry with an Avital 2101L and DB Link Lock actuators.

Also picked up some 2003 Seats while I was at the junk yard they're a hundred times better than the ones currently in there, I think they'll clean up nice.

The 04 door panels will not work on the 93 & 94 Rangers, the door handles are different. Not sure if you can transfer the 04 internals into the 94 door on not. Someone chime in with knowledge of this, I just know that the doors panels & handle & such are different from my tinkerin with them.
1993 that was my DD a while back>

1995 I bought wrecked few years back that I fixed & sold as a roller>

Look at the difference in the door panels.....

VERY NICE SCORE!!!:yahoo:

Most of our trucks were "Ugly Ducklings" when purchased, then they get "Personalized" and look WAY BETTER!!!:p

Keep up the good work & keep us informed on the progress!:icon_thumby:

Maybe it's just me. But both the door handles look the same in your pictures?

Only pics I had of them. Will take closer up pics tomorrow and post them then to show the difference.:icon_idea:

probly going to want to put lower gears in the rear with those bigger/heavier tires, that 2.3 doesnt have alot of oommph when yo go to bigger than stock tire size. looks good though. could just change out the whole doors for newer ones if you found a set affordable enough.

Door panel swapped right in. Removed the handle mounting bracked from the door with two screws and will have to put two new holes in the door for the new mounting points, but pretry dorect swap. 2003 panels on a 1994:

Got a few more goodies today in the mail.

Weathertech Mats, their website doesn't list having the mats for a 94, but I bought the 98+ version, they seem to fit fine.

Also got some new headlights and marker lights to replace the old yellowing headlights and the amber corner markers.

And then the last item I received in the mail today. the Rough Country leveling kit.

IMG_3475.jpg

Gonna try to get all this installed in the next few days.

gotta do a little adjusting, but they look way better than the old yellow things!

haven't driven it much so not sure. But this is a putt around town vehicle, it rarely sees highway speeds.
