I have a 92 2.3 manual and the shifter just got slopy. It use to have spring to it but now there is no spring to it. What do I do to fix the problem? Thanks Mike

crawl under there and see if its an M5OD or not. if its an M5OD it WONT have a flat drain pan on the bottom. if it does its the FM126? some ppl with a better memory can name it. Its a pretty common problem with the M5ODs. there are some nylon plugs that wear out i guess causes this issue.

1992 4cyl it can only be a mazda trans.

it's the shifter and that can be repaire.d inside the cab

If you don't know where to get new bushings I got them from Transmission Exchange in Oregon google will tell you specs.Good service great inventory.

It is a M50D but I forgot that it is made of thirty some other rangers. I looked at the papers I saved from the build the motor and tranny are from an 89.
