Hey guys,
Just noticed as well on the truck that I've got a slight oil leak coming from between the oilpan and the trans case. It doesnt seem to be dripping from anywhere around the oilpan other than this spot which is leading me to believe its a rear seal issue. Im only loosing perhaps a couple of drops over the case of a night (Ive had the truck for ~3 weeks now and the oil is still showing full). If it is the rear seal from everything Ive read it requires removing the engine/tranny to replace; assuming this is correct and i dont have the equipment available for such a job, might putting in a heavier oil slow or stop the leak? I want to avoid using a stop leak product as I will eventually replace the seal (maybe a month or two) and do it properly. I have pics as well but cant seem to post them up here from my computer, it wants a URL address for them. The truck has 289k KM on it btw and otherwise runs like a top (save the xfer case shift motor issue).
Thanks a million and i hope i havent forgotten any pertinent information.
