I have som etube laying around and was wanting to make sliders. Should I wait till after i put a bl on or do it before? Thanks

Cole

uummmm............after

after, you will be able to mount them higher

Well gotta get a bl now.lol anyone know somebody who wants to get rid of one?

Should not matter, Bro. I have ss nerf bars and after I did the body lift they followed along with the lift:

Do it now, and never get around to installing a BL. Spend that money on bigger tires, and borrow your buddies grinder and cutoff wheel to cut your fenders. :D

I really dont wanna cut the fenders. They are the only set i have.lol but the front is all im worried about really.

why would you mont the sliders to the body? I guess I don't see the point there I would think I always mounted mine to the frame I wanted them for sliding over rocks not damaging the body. They should mount like the roll cage directly to the frame. Definatly mount after the body lift and you could gain more clearance for the rocks. I made my body lift from 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square tube 250 wall I always do and never had a problem. I think I have maybe forty dollars with the tube and new bolts for the lift hope this helps.

I've seen functional rock sliders mounted to the body (kinda got no choice on a Jeep XJ lol), though you'd have to plate the whole lower area of the body for reinforcement and incorporate them into it. With a frame available, it does seem a lot easier to just mount them straight to the frame.

Those above aren't actually "sliders" though, they're step bars. Though somewhat similar, they're typically made from thinner material and aren't gonna stand up well to being set down on a rock.

got ya I thought he ment "sliders" not steps, or nerf bars they have no real purpose but for a step and I always thought they mounted to the body bolts?

Yes i am building sliders.lol amd i have been thinking about just putting different fenders on it (baja) amd that way i dont have to lift it.
