my problem is that the clutch originally made a squeeking noise when pushing the clutch in at higher RPM, kinda like pulling a straw through a slurpee lid or fountain drink lid...
so i went in, got them to take a look at it my whole "clutch gearset" was needing to be replaced, luckly i had a clutch warranty written into my bill of sale, so they covered it 100%, they replaced everything! clutch, bearings, slave... everything!
fast forward 8 months, i'm in the bush 4x4ing, in 4 low, when it gets hot, then sits in neutral, i can't get it into 1st gear... have to shut the motor off to get it into 1st gear...
take it into another dealership, he calls me a liar, tells me there's nothing wrong, i go complain to the GM, they end up "fixing it" by replacing my 1-2 syncro, but it doesn't fix it... same problem persists... (this is in december)
fast forward to may of this year, i take it into a 3rd dealership, because the first 2 are dicking me around... the service manager goes for a drive with me, and says yeah, there's definitely something wrong, and when it's in 4 low, from neutral, i go to put it into 1st, the truck rolls forward as it goes into gear... but he says that he doesn't want to get involved in my truck because there's already 2 dealerships involved in fixing it improperly...
so i take it back to the first dealership, they pull the transmission, and the clutch has inner wear, consistent with riding the clutch, they tell me right off the bat that it's not covered by the warranty (ford gives 1 year 20,000 km warranty on all clutches replaced, though the dealership used a sashs clutch, they will honor the warranty) i tell them that's impossible, i do NOT ride the clutch, they also tell me there's hot spots on the flywheel... they call me back about an hour later and tell me it's a manufacturing defect, and that the clutch wasn't fully disengaging at a stop, causing it to ride... this also explains the rolling forward... i tell them it's the slave, they claim it's not, and it's the clutch plate, they replace the clutch, but not the slave... and now the problem is back (i haven't really gotten the transmission hot since then, other than sunday)
it also releases fairly high... so if i touch the clutch pedal, the clutch slips... i've NEVER had the clutch slip on me with the clutch fully out though
