My dad has a 1996 2.3L manual Trans ranger. I saw him on the forth and he told me his shifter has slack in it. I got in put in gear and it still feels like it is in neutral. It does not matter what gear it is in it still feels like it is in neutral. He said it shift fine and it wasn't like that a few weeks ago, it just all of a sudden had a lot of slack.

Does anyone know what is up?
Thanks in advance!!!

Sounds like one of the shifter alignment pins might have broken along with the bushings being shot... I know I have a spare pin and a spare set of shifter bushings somewhere...

Just as a note before someone calls BS on a broken pin, I've broken one before, have the remnants around somewhere...

Dorman makes a kit with everything you need for around 20 bucks, part# 917-551
