Hey guys.
started the installation of my skyjacker class 2 lift.. have a few questions.
I mocked up the radius arm mounting brackets to frame after i removed the trans cross member and the two holes on the outside of the frame that are re used do not line up with the holes pre drilled in the brackets... according to the directions they should match up.. the holes on the brackets are about 1/4 inch lower than those on the frame.. is this normal?
i went ahead and reamed out the holes to make it work.. i now have both brackets loosely installed and put the new trans cross member up there just to mock it up and it is clearly not going to line up.. i know the member does not get installed til later .. and things will shift when i start to tighten em up .. but is this normal?
i am a little concerned that i may have some pre existing frame damage.. did a number on the right front of the truck awhile back and bent back and destroyed the stock radius arm bracket.. frame seemed good though.. there was no stress bends or any visible problems or bending of the stock trans member when i removed it.. so whats the deal?
just want to kno if other people had these problems with the brackets not quite matching up or the trans member not looking like it is gonna work in the build phase..? thanks
also .. could this have anything to do with the fact that the truck was a highrider from the factory?
