Hey folks. I've been having some problems lately with condensation in the SJB. It's been extremely wet and damp up here lately, and today I had the wipers and washer pump come on automagically. Now, if you press the button for washer fluid, the headlights will blink. I had a similar problem last year where the horn would just stay on until you turned off the headlights.
I pulled the top most horizontal plug in the SJB (04 ranger xlt), and it was covered in condensation. I checked for water entry just to be sure, but the carpet isn't wet, and no other areas of the sjb are wet, so I'm assuming its condensation because behind the sjb isn't sealed to the exterior and with the heater blower on the floor...
Anyway, my question is, does anyone have any suggestions on how to help protect the pins on the sjb connectors from this condensation and corrosion? I was thinking dielectric grease. Or has anyone modified that rubbery panel that is mounted behind the sjb to completely seal it from the exterior? Any suggestions would be welcome!
Thanks
Lance
