Size of the castle nuts for both the tie rod ends and the linkage to the pitman arm

What are the sizes, and where do you get the bastards? the hex nut I believe is 21mm, but what is the thread count and pitch, and what is the bolt/ stud size?

my local Autozone does not carry any castlenuts in their hardware section. I don't see them online at Tractor Supply either, they just have axle nuts.

Or is this something that I just need to buy all new linkage with new hardware and be done with it? Not really wanting to blow 150 bucks right now tho...

They come with the new tie rod ends. Or you could pick some up from a junk yard.

yeah, junkyard will probably have hte same issue... they are rusted to hell. I was hoping to save a few bucks, but probably will end up getting all new...

Well if anyone is dying to know...

They are M14 x 1.5. Depending on the vendor, you can get them in 21mm hex or 22mm hex. 21mm is what came on the truck and is what is on the replacement steering linkage from Moog.

The best place i can find them is online through ebay. I can get a package of 5 for about10 bucks shipped directly from China to my door.

No one in the Indianapolis area has these in stock. Not even Fastenal, which i figured would be the place to get them. They can order them, but it is a minimum order of 1000 peices.

Seriously, what the hell is so special about these castle nuts that they are basically non existant outside of ordering entire steering components?!

Fasenal sucks, and nobody carries metric?

Took me two weeks to get the bolts for my upper intake (M8 x 120 flange bolts). Wholesaler had to order them in. They didn't even have a listing for the pan heads that would.have been factory on Merkur.

Just get some big nuts and cut the cross slots with a cut-off wheel. Voila! Home made castle nuts.

But do they have them in the proper size? 14mm
