Simple things you hate doing?

**** drum brakes.

In no universe is a drum brake better than a properly engineered and sized disc brake on a passenger vehicle. It's physics man.

I love how this turned into a drum brake debate lol

It's an argument. It would be a debate if there were valid points on both sides.... when you can say with conviction, "drum brakes apply negative atmospheric pressure to equine male reproductive parts," the argument is over.

Negative atmospheric presssure = "sucks"
equine = "donkey"
male reproductive parts = testes, a.k.a. "balls"

Just trying to keep it clean here! ;)

In the future sandwiches will be made of old discarded sandwiches.

I really dont notice a difference in them. Assuming the drums are adjusted right. But to each their own. Personally im pretty indifferent either way, but like usual i get jumped on because im not on the "new is better" bandwagon

I didn't say drums don't work, I just said they were not better than a disk brake system. The disk brake was first patented in 1902, so it's not really "new" technology. Like so many other things, it just took it a while for someone to perfect it and mass market it.
I've driven both, though I haven't driven a car with front drums in a long time. I can tell the difference and I do know how to adjust drum brakes. I'd also much rather service a disk brake system than dealing with all of the springs, adjusters and other BS associated with drum brakes.
But like you said, to each their own.

Original braking system.....
And, brake system needing replacement after overheating...

In this case it’s not “new is better” it’s “better is better”...

They’re better at releasing the gasses that get trapped between the friction material on the rotor/drum surface.... one of the major causes of brake fade. Plus vented rotors tend to cool faster then drums.

The foot brake drag racers prefer drums in the rear for staging. They tend to hold a little more RPM on the starting line when staging on the foot brake in classes that don’t allow trans brakes. They’re willing to sacrifice some stopping power at top end for a better launch.

Also, don't know if this was mant to stop a Dodge, or if it means the Dodge should be used as an added boat anchor....:icon_rofl:

Disc brakes are superior where it comes to what brakes are designed to do. Convert motion into heat and recover at the price of more maintenance.

You don’t have to worry about sliders seizing. Corrosion of the friction is a bigger problem.

That all being said, for front brakes, I still prefer disc. For rear brakes, I prefer drums. The higher maintenance they have over drums out weight their benefits.

Of course, that is all just my opinion. Others don’t agree.

The color matches, and I can't imagine a Dodge doing anything else useful

Hence why i said drums are just as good till they get hot.

Watching you move the goalposts is hilarious.
So they're just as good until:
They get hot
They get wet
They are exposed to sand, etc

Any other major ones?
